Do you all know i would have been FINE with him getting a bike, but ALL he wants to do is do things ALONE. You all tell us "oh, it's so nice you have your wife out with you". Well aparently he doesnt care. he wants to do whatever he wants to do, alone. Of course i have to think about what we could do as a family, but aparently he wants to be single.
All i wanted was a little "dorm" fride for beer, juice for the kids etc. Robert totally freaked on me, and he's gonna be mad i'm saying this but i dont give a shit. I'm tired of being treated like a child. He wants to be single... great. bye.
i was a chaperone for my daughter's out-of-town volleyball tournament last weekend - got to meet another mom that had grown up in the same area i grew up in.

ALWAYS i have HATED witness funurals. They're NOT about the person who died AT ALL. Its ALL about sucking in new members and it pisses me off so much.
a few months back (when i was still in) i had to go to 3 in one week... wanted to shoot myself by the end... but would not have wanted to attend my own funural.
I always thought if my mother died, i would want to be able to go up there myself and talk. talk about funny things, imporatant things. things that mattered. things i was reflecting on at this time. Things that make you get thru this difficult time and work thru it instead of supressing all feeling for the sake of the watchtower getting in new recruits.

yesterday was my first small attempt at "apostasy".
i thought i did a very good job of it myself.
i had some interesting results.. i tried on two people: my wife (the biggest, baddest jw you could ever come up against) and my mother (who used to be but has cooled in the past ten or twelve years or so).

they aren't going to think this matters, they can laugh it off. isn't gonna touch their faith. Now, how do you get them to see that it's NOT as irrelivent as they make it seem? I dont really know what "pushed" me there. When my husband pointed out things about the society i kept saying 'its run by men! Mistakes are going to happen, who cares?"
Then when he would bring up issues with the society i kept saying over and over... "who cares? This is what matters- Jehovah, Jesus, New system (TM), tha'ts what matters, not what mistakes the society has made." I could NOT figure out why he'd talk about the society so much, i never cared much about them, it was about the basic beliefs for me.
I dont know HOW i got out of that circle of thought though. Did he just wear me down? maybe. Good luck though, but I dont think you really accomplished anything too much today, but maybe it will add up over time!
i just sent an e-mail to someone at work......and signed it oompa.......i had just posted a few posts here, using oompa of course...and then sent the work e-mail.... and now i realize that i sign more things oompa that my real name....hmmm.
the obvious solution is to legally change my name to oompa.

i just read the account of a an elderly lady who passed out in a distict convention in canada today (06/20/08).
it seems that as some of the attendees were trying to help by doing cpr, the "brother" on the platform a few feet away speaking did not even pause.
when his talk ended a few minutes later and the lady was still being tended too, the platform folks just announced the next speaker as if nothing was happening.
this is all so so sick. it makes me feel sick. also makes me sure of my decision to leave.
Also upsets me that you could NEVER get the people on the inside to see WHY this is WRONG.

there is one elder in the cong who calls around every so often to "chat" as i only stopped attending meeting a couple of months ago.
i've spoken to him about certain subjects - eg the un thing and the misuse of quotes - but he has no useful answers for me.

Feel free to "get your feet wet" so to speak here. You'll see that yes, they do want you to say the wrong thing. It seems the WORST thing you can say, that will get you DFed immediately is that you DONT believe the society anymore, DONT believe it's gods "spirit directed" organization... and your toast.
Elders wanted a meeting with us, we "differed". hoping they forget about us, but we know it will come back again soon i'm sure.
I'm in a similar situation... once my husband had issues, we talked to the elders , but they had NO answers. So we looked for the answers. Found them all. Keep on the board, you'll find all your answers. Keep looking around the internet. you'll find information on reputable sites.
